It was first recorded by Paul Whiteman & His Orchestra - Vocal Refrain Ramona in It was covered by Eddie Cano and His Sextet, Harold Mabern & Geoff Keezer, Skitch Henderson, Manu le prince and other artists.

It reached the top of the music charts in Denmark, for all the lyrics were in Swedish; the song's popularity was such that it was a mainstay on compilations and concerts, including Gyllene Tider's 40th anniversary.
