A list of punk bands from counties Antrim, Armagh, Derry, Down, Fermanagh and Tyrone, with a few observations on each (I love UK hardcore and can't stand its American counterpart - declaring my prejudices in advance). No claims to completeness or definitiveness, although in the interest of the former I've decided to include the main power pop and/or New Wave acts that were so closely linked to.

5. The punk scene in Belfast is vibrant, and The Harp Bar in Hill Street is busy three nights a week. Punks come here to listen to local bands, dance, and let off steam.

7. Formed in Belfast as a three piece by Wes, Jeff and Colin Campbell, but went through various line-up changes in their career. Ken Matthews (brother of Rudi's Ronnie) was recruited before the band released their debut single Strange Things By Night on Good Vibrations in First band to stage a punk gig in the legendary Harp Bar.

Belfast Nights is a fairly typical and fairly mediocre live set from Johnny tiocounabudarnoibeauvestcankeyflowat.xyzinfo show was recorded in October of in a trio setting with Keith Yon on bass, and former Heartbreaker and Clash member Terry Chimes on drums. The sound is a bit muddy, and Thunders seems to have had some trouble locating the microphone at times. The performances themselves are not terrible, but lack the 4/
